StarMix Volumetric Concrete Plants

Carry the materials dry and mix only what the pour actually needs. Batch, measure, mix and dispense from one unit — on site, on demand, with no short loads and nothing hauled back.

How volumetric differs

The clock does not start until you pour

A drum truck leaves the plant with concrete already mixing and a hard deadline attached. A volumetric plant carries sand, stone, cement, water and admixture in separate compartments and mixes continuously at the discharge. Nothing sets on the way to site.

  • Pour what you need. Order by the job, not by the truckload. No paying for waste, no short-load fees.
  • Change the mix mid-load. Different strengths or slumps from the same load, adjusted in minutes.
  • No return concrete. Unused material stays dry in the bins and goes back to the yard as inventory.
  • Reload while running. The cascade feed lets you top up hoppers during production without stopping the pour.
  • Small wash-down. Only the mixing section contacts wet concrete, so cleanup uses a fraction of the water.

Where it earns

Jobs that punish ready-mix

Bridge deck & latex-modified overlays

Latex-modified overlay has a working window measured in minutes, not hours, and the polymer dose has to hit the design — not close enough. A drum truck is already hydrating when it leaves the plant. Volumetric metering puts the latex in at the pour, at the ratio the deck called for.

Rapid-set & DOT lane returns

Fast-set and CSA mixes start hydrating the moment water hits cement. They will not survive a haul in a rotating drum, and a night lane-return does not wait on a batch plant. Mix on site against the reopen time, not against the truck clock.

Shotcrete & gunite

Pool shells, retaining walls, and slope work run at the nozzle. A barrel load is the wrong unit — too much, then nothing. Continuous supply at a controlled rate keeps the crew shooting instead of waiting on the next truck.

Municipal & DOT maintenance

A city or county crew does many small pours across scattered sites in a day. Full barrel loads for that work are waste: short-load fees on the way in, returned concrete on the way out. Mix what the stop needs, then move.

Mining & remote sites

When the nearest ready-mix plant is a long haul — or there is not one — a drum truck is not a plan. Pads, haul roads, and plant foundations need concrete that has not already set in transit. Carry the materials dry and mix at the hole.

Small-pour & low-volume work

The job is a few yards, not a truckload. Short-load fees and returned concrete eat the margin on work that should have been simple. Pay for what you place. Unused material stays dry in the bins.

After delivery

A plant is only as good as the operator

Volumetric equipment rewards a trained operator and punishes a guessing one. Calibration, gate settings and flowmeter positions are what stand between a good pour and a rejected one.

  • Operator training. Batching, calibration, mix design and concrete technology — not just which lever does what.
  • Startup checks. Gates calibrated to the mix design, flowmeters set, cement hopper clutch selected, water and admixture switched to automatic.
  • Maintenance and rebuild. Full unit restoration and service through the manufacturer network.
  • Genuine SMI parts. Stocked components engineered for the unit, many cross-compatible with other volumetric brands.
  • Bilingual support. English and Spanish, on the phone and on site.
